Wow I can't believe I finished it! The character didn't take me very long, but the background.. let's just say it made me want to use an electric cattle prod on small children. D: And it still didn't turn out very well. I must say, this is a much darker piece than I'm used to. But it was interesting to try something new!

This is for 's contest. I had to draw one of her characters with an elemental theme.

I drew her with the element of time, as I'm hoping you can tell from the hourglass (yes, that's what that thing is! XD )

I thought time would be appropriate because of Decae's dark past. She had her loved ripped from her grasp, and was left emotionally and physically scarred. Despite this, time heals all, for it is never ceasing. I drew the hourglass broken because in the moment Decae lost her love, I'm sure she felt shattered, and her mind will forever revisit that moment.

"And in the wind-swept sands of time, images of you are almost tangible... and they are carried away on a swift breeze all too soon, leaving my heart sinking in this endless desert."
